The Munyuku Trust

Our family has a long history of producing educational leaders in our region. It was the dream of our late family leader and school principal, Nalwarri Ngurruwutthun, that this business would help revitalise Yolngu education.

Her vision was that the business would not only generate jobs and economic independence for our community, but also that it would generate funds that would be used to support our homeland school system and re-establish a pathway for tertiary trained Yolngu teachers to gain full tertiary qualification.

With this in mind, we have established the Munyuku Trust as a shareholder in our business. Munyuku Ltd is a registered charity with DGR status. It will raise funds and receive a share of profits from Knowledge Water with the goal of guaranteeing a full-time teacher at our school, providing educational resources for the homeland school network and eventually supporting Yolngu teachers to gain full tertiary qualification.
